Sunday Night Mind Dump

• Absolutely incredible day at ALIVE today!
• I always know it's gonna be a great day when I can't sleep the night before.  I've learned not to fight it, but instead to pray all night.
• I had my alarm set for 6 AM so I could get up and go for a nice 5 mile run this morning.  I was semi-asleep by 5:45 and shut my alarm off till 6:45.  So I literally slept for one hour last night.
• It was awesome to see some new folks at ALIVE today.  I so appreciate our folks that make it a priority to invite friends.
• I had a visit in church today from an old friend I haven't seen since high school.  He and his mom, and his mom's friend, came up today from the Greensburg area.  Loved seeing him and catching up a little bit!
• We had a baptism celebration after church today and I had the incredible privilege of baptizing 8 people who have committed their lives to Jesus!
• Some of them have been walking with Jesus for awhile, and wanted to take this step of obedience.  And some of them have just recently experienced new life in Christ!
• That never gets old!
• And the swim parties after our baptisms are always the greatest!  I love seeing folks from ALIVE hanging out and doing life together, and pastoring a church where people actually love to be with each other.
• I had to leave at about 3:30 to take a nap, but came back later, and the party wasn't over till 9!
• I played soccer tonight (after my nap) with some other coaches and parents from my kids' soccer league.  I haven't actually played a game of soccer since I was 9.
• I accomplished my primary goal of not totally embarrassing myself.
• And I actually scored a goal!  Couldn't believe it.  I told my kids they had to take ME out for ice cream or something, since they're always begging me to do the same when they have good games.
• One week from now, we should be arriving in Emerald Isle, NC for a week of R&R at the beach.
• Can't wait!  I need a vacation.  But lots to do this week.
• Why is it that there's always so much work to get done BEFORE vacation?  
• Gonna go try to make up for last night now.  Peace out.
